Four houses by architect Manuel Aires Mateus merge with the Mediterranean landscape. The design explores and conveys the concept of patios (or courtyards), where interior and exterior blend together and connect with nature — an idyllic scenery of the southern region where more sunny days let us take full advantage of the outdoors. The concept is unique - Each of the houses can be taken indivually or together as a buyout. The houses were thought-out with care, where well-being and taking a break are to be indulged to the fullest. Decorated with light and natural materials, the four Pa.te.os houses are a way of being home away from home.
Here, the rock-rose aromas blend into the sea breeze coming from the Atlantic. Just a 15-minute car drive away will take us to the largest stretch of sand in Portugal, where we can find several desert beaches. 208 m2 of floor space, three rooms, one of which is inde-
pendent and accessible through another door. Beds can be double or
twin. The central area of the house encompasses a living room with a
fireplace, a kitchen and a courtyard. Two bedrooms have bathrooms
leading to private courtyards with outdoor showers.

85 m2 of floor space, a double room, a bathroom withbathtub and shower, a kitchenette, and a living room with fireplace. The
Mediterranean foliage envelops the terrace, and you can see the ocean
from your bed, as well as the arbutus trees.

terrace, and a living room with a fireplace. The bathroom leads to a cour-
tyard with an outdoor shower. The kitchenette connects with the large
